The professional activity of the graduates of the faculty covers the development, implementation and operation of means, technologies, systems and communication networks, including special purposes. The most important element of professional activity is a comprehensive solution to the problems of protecting telecommunication systems from unauthorized access to critical data for the economy and public administration.

The program of study at the faculty is based on the traditions of Russian engineering education, supported by the current scientific school. The training base is composed of fundamental courses of physical and mathematical disciplines, study cycles on the study of means of protecting information in wired and wireless networks (cellular, Wi-Fi, etc.). Professional disciplines form competencies in the field of modern telecommunication systems and networks with an emphasis on satellite, cellular, broadband systems, as well as communication systems and networks based on optical technologies. At the senior courses, along with professional disciplines, the specifics of information protection is studied in public administration communication systems both on the territory of the Russian Federation and abroad.
